Private rooms
At Sotwell Hill House, we provide private single and double rooms, each thoughtfully furnished to ensure comfort and privacy. We encourage residents to personalise their spaces with cherished belongings, creating a true home away from home.
All rooms feature en-suite facilities, along with television and private telephone access. A modern nurse call system is installed in each room, and a six-person lift serves the first floor for the convenience of less mobile residents.

Our elegantly furnished reception rooms include all modern comforts, providing inviting spaces for relaxation and socialisation. The dining room offers delightful views of the garden and paddocks, while the main lounges and spacious conservatory boast magnificent vistas over the lawns and unspoilt countryside, extending to the Chiltern Hills beyond.

Activities, Amenities & Animals
We believe in enriching the lives of our residents through a variety of engaging activities. Our dedicated team organises a lively program of events and outings, encouraging participation to the extent each resident desires.
From gardening in our extensive grounds to enjoying a good book in our library/TV room, there’s always something to look forward to. Additionally, our on-site hair salon ensures residents can enjoy a bit of pampering without leaving home.
Besides the family dog the home has a pet rabbit and ponies. An aquarium is home to many tropical fish, and residents are encouraged to help in the upkeep of the bird feeders stationed around the home.
The well stocked fish pond and lake are places where residents can sit and relax while enjoying the abundance of wildlife, ducks, dragon fly and geese.

Meals at Sotwell Hill House are a highlight of the day. Our kitchen team works closely with residents to accommodate specific preferences, dietary requirements, and cultural needs. We offer varied menus featuring healthy, wholesome, and appetizing food, with snacks and drinks available at any time. Residents are also welcome to entertain family and friends in our dining areas.

Our Team
Our family-run establishment is dedicated to providing compassionate, 24-hour personal care. Our experienced staff are selected for their patience and ability to understand and sympathise with the individual needs of our elderly residents. We maintain a very personal relationship with each client, prioritising individual preferences and needs whenever possible.
The home has been owned and managed by the Butterfield family for the last 28 years. This continuity has created a welcome and friendly atmosphere throughout the home.
We have excelled government’s targets of achieving NVQ Level II & III awards.
