Welcome to Sotwell Hill House
Sotwell Hill House is a late Victorian country
house which has been sympathetically restored and enlarged over
the last twenty years by its present owners. Set in almost twenty
acres of landscaped parklands, the well appointed house now provides
a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere for elderly people who require
twenty four hour care without nursing. It is ideal for those wishing
to spend their retirement years in comfort and security without
the loneliness and stress associated with living alone.
An independent overview of the care home's "Environment"
can be borrowed from the annual inspection report recently prepared
and signed by the Lead Inspector for the Commission for Social Care
Inspection, Oxfordshire.
"Sotwell Hill House is a late Victorian country
house, which has been extended over the years, and service users
spoken to during the inspection were more than happy with their
accommodation.
Those areas that were seen were clean, tidy and
odour free. Cleaning was underway at the time of inspection and
it was evident that staff take considerable pride in the appearance
of the home, which is commendable.
The home is well decorated and the environment
comfortable. Corridors are fitted with handrails and ramps to enable
service users to have easy and safe movement around the home. There
is also a lift which accommodations six people.
The extension, providing eight extra bedrooms
and an assisted bathroom, is nearing completion. All eight bedrooms
have en-suite facilities and are spacious.
A new call system has been installed which allows
the management team to monitor the calls and to monitor the swiftness
of staff responding.
The home is set in exceptionally large grounds,
which are well maintained."
